PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Zerofen 4% Powder is a broad spectrum anthelminthic, which contains 0.04 gr of the active ingredient albendazole per gr of the product. Fenbendazole is a member of the benzimidazole family. Benzimidazoles bind to tubuline, in the intestinal cells of the nematodes and in the epidermides of cestodes, with resulting the reduction of the absorption of glucose and so the parasites are deprived from their energy search.

INDICATIONS
Zerofen 4% Powder is a broad spectrum anthelminthic for the treatment of pigs infected with mature and immature forms nematodes of gastro-intestinal and respiratory system: Hyostrongylous rubius, Oesophagostomum spp., Ascaris suum, Trichuris vulpis, Metastrongylus apri.  It also has an ovicidal effect against the eggs of nematodes.

DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Zerofen 4% Powder is administered orally, mixed with feed. The dose rate for administration is 5 mg fenbendazole per kg of body weight. Zerofen 4% Powder may be administered to pigs as a single dose or by divided dosage for 7 consecutive days. It may also be administered to sows for 14 consecutive days. All the treatment methods are evenly effective. For the treatment of infections with Trichuris suis the dose of 5 mg/kg should be divide and administrate for 7 or 14 days for more effectiveness. For treatment of infections with Metastrongylous apri, the dose can be increased to 3 mg /kg daily for 3 consecutive days.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICAMENTS - INCOMPATIBILITY
With salycylates can be caused abortions to cattle and deaths to sheep and goats. Also it shouldn’t be combined with rafoxanide.

USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Zerofen 4% Powder can be safely used during pregnancy and lactation.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
When preparing medicated feed for pigs which are to be administered over a number of days, to ensure thorough dispersion, a pre-mix should be prepared first. Once mixed, this should then be incorporated with the remaining feed. The product can be incorporated into pelleted feed with steam at a temperature not grater than 45 0 C. A manufacturer must be responsible for mixing when incorporation is less than 2 kg per tone of final feed.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY THE PERSON ADMINISTERING THE PRODUCT TO ANIMALS
Feel mill operators – when handling or mixing, suitable dust extraction equipment should be used. Where this is not available, suitable protective equipment such as rubber gloves and filtering masks or “Pureflo” helmet must be used. Wash hands after handling medicated feedstuffs.

WITHDRAWAL TIME
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Pigs may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 3 days after the last treatment.

SHELF LIFE:
3 years. The product will remain stable in the finished product for 1 year

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCT OR WASTE MATERIAL, IF ANY:
Unused product or waste material should be disposed with safety. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with product or unused container.
